The Bressingham Gardens

Hope those of you who came to the 'Artistic Blooms' event on Sunday enjoyed it - here are some photos from the event.The Bloom family of The Bressingham Gardens were pleased to welcome NAFAS and the W.I. in hosting the Artistic Blooms Event this Sunday, and delighted everyone had a good time.
Congratulation to all the winners, truly inspiring, the Blooms hope you enjoy spending your vouchers at their mail order nursery and look forward to meeting again in the Hall for lunch. Bressingham High Barn looked stunning with all the wonderful array of exhibits.

If your Geranium 'Rozanne' is flowering now, it should continue to do so through October to the first frosts. We cut our Geranium 'Rozanne' back a couple of weeks ago, but if you haven't yet and yours needs a tidy you can still do so.

By this time of year it has normally made new growth from the centre which should not be cut away, but the outside growth, which has spread widely around the plant and may still have some flowers, can be cut away.

There’s a story behind this picture of Echinacea purpurea, but not really space to tell it! You may know there has been much breeding happening over the past few years so that hundreds of varieties have been produced - some with double flowers, and all sorts of colours. Perhaps time then to consider that since so few of these are long-lasting perennials, we should be going back to more dependable species, such as this Echinacea purpurea. This has been the subject of some long-term breeding and testing at Bressingham and we hope that one of our dependable varieties could be introduced soon as a 'Bloom’s Best' garden plant - stay tuned… ...
