Plant of the Month – March

Helleborus x hybridus – hellebore
Helleborus x hybridus – hellebore

Helleborus  X~hybridus

(Hellebore)

These superb easy-growing plants come in many colours, growing well in sun or shade in cool climates and preferring some shade in hotter regions. They do well in most soils except badly drained. Flowers emerge in late winter and early spring; they make their best display when the previous year’s foliage is cut away at ground level before flowering. With good green foliage, they make excellent ground cover in summer.
