DAY TRIP itineraries
Day 1. Check in after 4.
Day 2. Today we will give ourselves the luxury of living the garden like Lords and Ladies of the Manor, like enjoying an early morning coffee in the garden still in a dressing gown, reading a book in the shade of the centuries-old oak or lying on the grass in the midst of thousands of beautiful flowers, picking a bunch of flowers while we walk, having lunch talking about plants with Adrian Bloom, who was born here and created the garden. In the afternoon we will go to visit the nursery garden of Peter Beales, together with David Austin and Harkness they made the history of the English Rose. Their rose garden is made up of large flowered arches, statues and dreamy flowered perspectives!
Day 3. Today we head north to discover the flowery coasts of Norfolk. We will go to visit the impressive Holker Hall, an ancient and imposing estate with one of the largest parks in England, overlooking the sea. The days of July are long, and with great relaxation we will treat ourselves to an unforgettable day among the flowering coasts of limonium, sand dunes, chic villages and lunch at the pub.
Day 4. Today we will go to visit the beautiful garden of Helmingham Hall, created by Lady Tollemache, garden designer and great fan of roses. A classic garden around an important residence surrounded by an ancient park still populated by fallow deer and deer. In the afternoon we will go for a walk in nearby Knettishall Heath, a birch forest now in bloom with thousands of wild foxes.
Day 5. Today we will go a little further to visit one of the most fascinating realities in the field of contemporary female gardening. Beth Chatto, the queen of Dry Gardening, in the nearby county of Essex is a nursery of excellence, a large and diverse garden. Her gravel Garden is always a great thrill and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. On return, free time to enjoy the garden and Bressingham Manor.
Day 6. This morning we go for a walk on the Suffolk coast to Dunwich, a spectacular reserve. In the afternoon, returning, we will go to Wyken Hall, a surprising reality in terms of the quality of hospitality, the refinement of the garden, of the shop and even more of the restaurant connected to the vineyard. In fact, Wyken, owned by Kenneth and Carla Carlisle, is a concentrate of refined passion for flavors, colors and life in all its forms. A colorful garden in all seasons around an ancient house, renovated to be lived and enjoyed by family and many friends.
Day 7. A visit to the Cambridge Botanical Gardens, wonderful in all seasons.
